With this election over I must say I am happy about the results. We seen an up tick of new voter registration and seeing around 1200 people over just the register democrats is a sign people are thinking and wanting a change in leadership. Yes I would have liked to win. But, I felt great about how I ran and did something not seen here in many years. Our area is changing and I would like to help with our growth. I have decided to re-run for 2020. Right now though we need to work on voter suppression in Madison County. After looking at the results for this year and going back to 2000. It is clear that most years we have a less then 1% voter turnout in precincts 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 20 and 21. These are mostly student populations. I feel that if you live, study and work in an area for 4+ years you have the right to shape the community with your vote. I am going to start work soon on getting our student population ready to use their voice and vote. I don’t care what party they belong to or who they choose in an election. I just want people to stand up and be counted. More on this at a later time. I just want to thank those of you would did support me and just because we didn’t win it’s not the end. Keep on using your voice they are listening.
